Rules

The following rules have been implemented in Starfleet Commander. Failure to comply will result in punitive action, including confiscation of ships, resources, research/building levels, or even total banning from the game at Blue Frog Gaming's sole discretion.

One player per account

Each account is entitled to be played by a single player at all times, with the only exception made for Account Sitting as described below. The player authorized to access the account is the owner of the email address bound to the game account.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.

Multiple accounts

Each player is allowed to control a single account per Universe. If two or more accounts are usually, occasionally, or permanently being played from the same network (e.g. schools, universities, Internet cafes, etc.) it is highly recommended to open a support ticket in the game to let us know. In these cases the accounts will not be permitted to attack one another for any reason.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension. In the event of an egregious violation of the rules the accounts may be deleted or reset. Additionally, Blue Frog Gaming reserves the right to only return the account with the lowest resources spent points to the player for continued play.

Account transfers

Account transfers are done at your own risk. Blue Frog Gaming does not approve of account transfers and will not assist or help facilitate the transfer of an account. Once a transfer of an account is completed between the parties, the new player MUST open a support ticket in the game to have the email address on the account updated. If the new player fails to do this support may be unable to assist them with any game related problems.

Account Sitting

Account sitting allows a player to have his account watched over by another player for a maximum period of twelve (12) hours. While sitting an account the sitter may only fleet and resource save, toggle the account in to diplomacy mode (where applicable), or place the account in vacation mode. Support must be informed before the sitting takes place — open a support ticket in the game.

The sitting period will be considered over if the actual owner logs in. The sitter may not group defend the planet, spend resources, or send messages from the account being sat. An account can only be sat once every 14 days.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension. Additionally, we reserve the right to remove ships or resources from an account as a penalty for violation of this rule.

Bashing

It is not allowed to successfully attack any given planet or moon, owned by a player, more than 6 times in a 24 hour period. Espionage and interplanetary ballistic missile strikes do not count towards the bashing rule. Additionally, bashing will be considered if more than 6 attacks are launched in one day, due to an attack being unsuccessful, and the net sum of the attacks shows no profit.

The exception to this rule is that when two alliances are at war, the bashing rules do not apply between them. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a warning (at the discretion of Blue Frog Gaming), 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.

Resource Trading

Trading is not currently available in Starfleet Commander. If and when this feature is added to the game, players must use the standard trade ratios published at that time.

Pushing

It is against the rules to devise a scheme to transfer gains from a lower-ranked player to a higher-ranked player (using the rankings from the Resources Spent leader board). Pushing is, but not only limited to, these examples: a scheme to leave resources on an undefended planet for a high ranking player to attack and plunder, or a player crashing his fleet into a higher ranked player for the higher ranked player to keep the Debris Field and thus profiting from it. For all exceptions, such as splitting resources collected from an attack, you must open a support ticket in the game.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension. Additionally, our general policy will be to remove all resources gained by the higher ranked player from the game.

If and when moonshots are added to the game, the rules above will also extend to leaving resources on an undefended moon and to splitting moonshot resources, and the lower ranked player must be reimbursed within 48 hours for all resources lost in the attack.

If and when resource trading is added to the game, pulling — sending resources to a lower ranked player — will be allowed. In a trade, the higher ranked player may give more resources than the trade ratio allows, but the lower ranked player may not. For instance, the higher ranked player could give the lower ranked player 4 ore for 1 hydrogen.

Destroyed Ship Points

It is against the rules to devise a scheme to increase a player's destroyed ship points score outside of the normal course of play. Examples of prohibited actions include crashing ships into a planet with no expectation or belief that they will survive battle or otherwise provide any gain to the attacker, pre-arranging for a player to destroy ships left on a planet, or otherwise providing another player with information that would allow them to destroy ships arriving at a planet. Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension. Additionally, we may remove all destroyed ship points gained by a player in this manner. If and when moonshots are added to the game, they will be a recognized exception to this rule.

Extortion

It is against the rules to demand resources, credits, money, or a money equivalent in exchange for joining an alliance, a NAP, or to cancel or withhold attacks. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a warning (at the discretion of Blue Frog Gaming), 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension. Additionally, we reserve the right to remove gains achieved as a result of extortion from a player's account.

Harassment

It is against the rules to harass other players, either through verbal messages or in-game actions including, but not limited to, including another player's name or coordinates in your planet name, using your planet names to indicate some negative, derogatory, or otherwise unacceptable message to another player, sending repeated attacks or excessively slow attacks for no purpose other than to generate notifications, and excessive pointless espionage.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a warning (at the discretion of Blue Frog Gaming), 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.

Verbal Abuse

All conversations, including, but not limited to, private messages, alliance forum posts, and planet names, must be civil. Verbal abuse in messaging, even private messages, will not be tolerated.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a warning (at the discretion of Blue Frog Gaming), 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.

Spamming

You may not advertise any product or service in game, nor may you mass-message users with the same or similar messages. The exception to this rule is messages sent to your alliance members or users on your buddy list.

Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a warning (at the discretion of Blue Frog Gaming), 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.

Scripting / Botting

Players may not use any sort of script or program to automate any portion of their game play, including, but not limited to, running missions, fleet saving, and refreshing the page. Additionally, players may not use any script which creates an audible warning or generates a warning outside of the game, including but not limited to, an email, SMS message, or MMS message.

In the event of an egregious violation of the rules the account may be deleted or reset.

Bug Exploitation

Players may not abuse any bug found in the game for profit and must report any bugs they find to support immediately. To report a bug, open a support ticket in the game. Players found to be exploiting any bug or failing to report any bug will be subject to all penalties, based on the severity of the bug, up to and including having your account reset or an indefinite suspension.

Proxies

The use of a proxy or any method with the purpose of hiding a player's identity in the game interface is forbidden. Players in violation of this rule will be suspended with increasing penalties for each violation. The general penalties for violation of this rule will be a 3 day suspension, 7 day suspension, and then indefinite suspension.
