Captain N Cadet

History

Captain

Captain is the captain of the Athena, charged with escorting Hermes probe Alpha to its destination. His uniform is yellow. He dislikes Cadet and tried to trade him for hydrogen on an abandoned planet, but lately has come to tolerate him more.

Cadet

Cadet is a young science officer who is really bad at his job. Everything he does seems to turn out wrong. He briefly ruled an abandoned planet whose people were experiencing famine, but then left them when he had them burn a huge statue of himself made of all the remaining food. He brought back an alien parasite from the planet that crawled down his throat. Recently, he helped complete some repairs after an attack, but as usual did damage of his own. Cadet's uniform is blue.

Admiral

Admiral is the chief, who resides at HQ. He wears a yellow shirt like Captain, but can be told apart from him by his large mustache. He's gullible and doesn't always think things through.

Gargles

Gargles is the extraterrestrial animal that Cadet took from the planet he briefly ruled over. As it turned out, Gargles was a parasite who crawled down Cadet's throat and caused him to "gleefully vomit" large amounts of blood everywhere. Gargles' name comes from the constant gargling noise he makes.

Miscellaneous info

The empire Captain and Cadet belong to is low ranked. Their fleet is small and the Athena flown by Captain and Cadet is one of a handful they control. This information was revealed in comic 18.
