Leaders

Leaders is the ranking screen. It shows how you and your alliance compare to everyone else in the universe you are playing.

The link sits under More in the game menu by default. Settings → Navigation moves it up to the top bar if you use it a lot.

Getting around the page

  • Players / Alliances switches between individual and alliance standings.
  • Filter (Players view) narrows the list to Everyone, your Buddies, or My Alliance.
  • Rank by (Alliances view) switches between Total and Average per member.
  • The sidebar splits the boards into Weekly and All-Time.
  • Standings run 25 to a page. On the Everyone filter the board opens on whichever page holds your own row, highlighted, with your rank in the top corner.
  • The page remembers the last board you had open and comes back to it next visit.
  • Click any name to open that player's profile, which lists their rank on every board.

Letters after a name are protection flags: (d) diplomacy mode, (v) vacation, (n) newbie protection, (P) PVE mode. The inactive marker you see in the Galaxy view is not shown here.

All-Time boards

Overall

Overall is Resources Spent plus Destroyed Ships. That is the whole formula. Buildings, Ships, Techs and Defenses are already inside Resources Spent, so they are not counted a second time, and PvP Destroyed Ships is a slice of Destroyed Ships so it is not added either.

Resources Spent

Resources Spent Points, or RSP, is everything you currently own, priced at what it cost to build. Add up the ore, crystal and hydrogen spent on it, treat all three as equal, and divide by 1,000. Four parts feed it: buildings, ships, techs and defenses.

The important thing about RSP is that it is a snapshot of what you hold right now, not a running total of what you have ever spent. It is recalculated from scratch every hour, so it moves both ways:

  • Lose ships or defenses in combat and your RSP drops by what they cost. Tear a building back down and it drops too.
  • Ships in flight still count. A fleet on the way to an attack, a fleet out on a group defend, ships tied up in a mission: all of it scores.
  • Resources sitting in storage count for nothing. Neither does plunder you have hauled home, until you spend it on something.
  • Anything still under construction counts for nothing. Ships and defenses in the shipyard queue, a building or a research still on the clock: none of it scores until it finishes. Queue a large batch and your rank creeps up as each item lands, rather than jumping the moment you pay.
  • Abandoning a planet wipes every point on it, including its buildings, its defenses, anything left in orbit and the moon at that slot.
  • Starting a colony costs you 40 RSP. The Gaia Class Colony Ship is consumed on arrival and a bare planet is worth nothing on its own.

Buildings, Ships, Techs and Defenses

These four are the parts of Resources Spent shown on their own, so you can see where somebody's score actually comes from. They are all point values, not counts. One Zeus outranks a thousand probes on the Ships board, and a single high level of a late research outranks a pile of cheap early ones on the Techs board.

Destroyed Ships

Destroyed Ships Points, or DSP, is 1 point for every 1,000 resources of enemy ships you blow up, counting ore, crystal and hydrogen together. Killing defenses pays nothing at all.

  • It is the only board that never goes down. Everything else is recalculated from what you hold, but DSP is banked and stays banked.
  • Attackers earn from the defender's ship losses, defenders earn from the attacker's ship losses. You get paid whether you attacked or were attacked.
  • Killing an NPC encounter pays the attacker half. A player kill pays full.
  • In a group attack, the attacking side's DSP is split between the fleets by how much fleet value each player brought.
  • Defending solo, the planet owner takes the whole defending share, even if only their defenses fought. When group defenders are in the battle the defending share is split by ship value instead, so an owner who had no ships in the fight gets none of it.
  • A player with ships on both sides of the same battle earns nothing from it. Their share goes to the other players instead.

PvP Destroyed Ships

The same points, counted only when they came off another real player. It is there so genuine fighting can be told apart from farming. A kill is left out of this board when:

  • the target was an NPC;
  • the defender had been inactive for 7 days or more;
  • the battle was a moonshot, meaning the attacker threw away almost their whole fleet while the defender barely lost anything.

Weekly boards

A week runs Monday 00:00 UTC to Monday 00:00 UTC. Live standings publish twice a day, at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC. Once a week ends its standings freeze and stay readable from the Week dropdown, so the archive builds up as the universe ages.

You need 25,000 RSP to be ranked on a weekly board. Below that you can still read them, you just do not appear.

Velocity: Fleet and Velocity: Buildings

These two rank growth, not size. Your starting number is your fleet points (or building points) at the first board update of the week, and your score is how far above that you have climbed, as a percentage. A small account that doubles its fleet beats a huge account that adds 2%, which is the point of them.

  • Start the week on zero and you sit that board out until the next Monday, because there is no baseline to grow from.
  • Join mid-week and your baseline is taken at your first board update.
  • The raw start and current numbers show on your own row while the week is live. Everyone else's stay hidden until the week is archived, so nobody can read your build timing off the board.

Raider of the Week

This one is your PvP Destroyed Ships for the week divided by your total RSP, so hitting above your weight scores better than grinding out kills with a huge fleet. Only the winning side banks weekly credit, and both sides on a draw, so getting farmed no longer inflates your score. The NPC, inactive and moonshot exclusions from the PvP Destroyed Ships board apply here too.

Alliance boards

Switch to Alliances and every board reads as an alliance board instead.

  • Total adds up the members. Average divides by how many members there are, which stops a big recruiting alliance from burying a small sharp one.
  • On the velocity boards, Total adds up the raw start and current numbers across the whole alliance and works out one growth figure from those. It is not an average of member percentages, or one tiny fast-growing member would carry the alliance.
  • Raider in Total mode is the alliance's combined weekly PvP DSP over its combined RSP.
  • Alliance Points adds two boards that only exist here. The all-time one ranks alliances by every Alliance Point they have ever earned from incursions, and spending points in the store does not pull it back down. The weekly one ranks this week's projected payout, with the earliest sector clear breaking ties.

How often it all updates

  • All-time boards are rebuilt every hour, on the hour.
  • DSP is banked the instant a battle resolves, but the board shows the last hourly snapshot, so a fresh kill turns up at the top of the next hour.
  • Weekly boards publish at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC.
  • NPCs are never ranked. Players on vacation stay on the boards with a (v) beside their name.

What RSP does besides ranking you

Resources Spent is also the number that decides who you are allowed to fight.

  • Under 750 RSP you are under newbie protection. You cannot attack and cannot be attacked.
  • Between 750 and 25,000 RSP you can only fight players within five times your RSP in either direction.
  • Over 25,000 RSP on both sides there is no restriction at all.

Inactive players lose their protection, whatever their size.

In the Galaxy view every player's rank number is coloured against your own RSP. Red means they are bigger than you, blue means they are smaller, white means you are evenly matched, and grey means protection is in the way and you cannot attack them at all. Note that the number itself is the Overall rank, but the colour comes from RSP.
